Timeout by choice

Chase is definitely in the "no" phase. The answer to everything now-a-days is "no". Finally, Carrie got tired of it and told him he was going to go to timeout if he kept answering no. So, what does he do...? He goes and sits in timeout and says no. :)

Father’s Day 2011

This weekend has been fairly relaxing. In between taking care of a sick Chase, and driving to eat lunch with my dad, I got to watch some of Rory McIlroy's historic win at the US Open. That kid has a bright future in front of him.

Still waiting to hear how James' team did in their Lexington, SC baseball tournament.

Oh yeah, Chase got his third hair cut today. Thanks Nana!

Kisses for Daddy

Kisses for Daddy

While working from home today (due to everyone having the flu), Chase decided he wanted to get up in my lap and help me draw out the logic for a function I was working on. While in my lap, I figured out that I could ask him for kisses and he would lean his head back and wait for me to give him one. I thought it was cute, so I got a little video of it.

Sporting Clays results

Shooting Clays

Steve, Matt and I took a trip up to Dawsonville, GA to do a round of sporting clays at Etowah Valley Sporting Clays Park. It was our first time, and none of us was very familiar with shotguns in general, but the man at the counter took the time to explain the guns and the course to us. He even closed the shop for a few minutes to drive us down to the first station, teach us how to use the clay shooters and give us a few pointers on how to shoot. Overall, we had a great time and will be returning soon.

Results (Out of 50 clays):
Daniel - 6
Matt - 10
Steve - 24 (and he's the one with the worst eye-sight?!)

My first gun

Benelli Franchi I-12

After going hunting a few weeks ago, I decided I was ready to take the plunge and buy my first gun. At first I thought I wanted a rifle, but then I realized that you can actually hunt more seasons with a shotgun so I changed my mind. Originally I figured I'd just buy a cheaper gun and then upgrade later once I learned a little more about them, but after looking for a while, I stumbled upon a great deal on a new Benelli Franchi I-12 on GunBroker.com and jumped on it.
