Hunting in South Alabama

A few weekends ago I was invited to go to south Alabama to participate in a deer drive. For those who don't know what that is...
You basically send 20+ guys out into the woods with shotguns to stand 200 yards apart. You then send the rest of the guys to other end of the property to hoot and holler as they walk back toward the standers trying to rustle up any deer between them.
The entire weekend was a blast, from the poker tournament at the camp, to sharing stories around the fire pit, to getting in trouble for going to the local pool hall, to the actual drive itself. During the drive I did see three deer, and took two shots at them. The first shot made me lose my footing and fall back against the tree I was leaning against. After gathering myself and quickly aiming the gun in the general direction of the deer again, I fired which second shot. The second shot, to my complete surprise, must have grazed one of the deer because we found a blood trail that we followed across a creek and through two fields for about a mile until it began getting dark and the trail dried up.
